Archuleta County Ed Center Pagosa Springs, Colorado Archuleta County Education Center brings college programs and courses to Pagosa Springs Southwest Colorado Community College, a division of Pueblo Community College, has designated the Archuleta County Education Center as an additional location for the delivery of programs and courses leading to the associate degree in general education. By combining courses delivered in a range of formats including live interactive video on 54 inch screens on-line courses offered either through Pueblo Community College or the Colorado On-Line Community College and classes offered on site, students will be able to earn their associate degree through full-time or part-time study in Pagosa Springs. Career programs offered by SCCC on their Durango or Cortez campuses will also be available, but students will have to travel to these sites for specialized laboratory classes. Depending on demand, we expect that some specialized classes may be available in the future in hybrid arrangements that will minimize the travel required. Career advising, admissions testing, assistance in selecting and registering for classes and assistance in obtaining federal and state financial aid is available at the ACEC from qualified SCCC advisors and counsellors. Students may also use the SCCC website to apply for admission or register for classes. A recently installed Tandberg Video Teleconferencing System supports live interactive classes that originate at SCCC or one of the other PCC sites. All college-level courses offered by SCCC carry a guarantee that they will transfer for full credit to any four-year public college or university within the state of Colorado. In practice, accredited private and public four-year institutions throughout the country also accept such classes.
