Welcome to the
Archuleta County
Education Center
The Education Center is a private, non-
profit organization that has served
Archuleta County and Colorado since
1989. Through fund-raising, grants, and
strategic partnerships with other organizations and agencies, it is able to provide
a variety of learning experiences and services for children, youth, and adults, as
well as providing a fundamental infrastructure asset that supports the economic
development priorities of the communities it serves.
In June 2011, ACEC entered into an agreement with Southwest Colorado
Community College, a division of Pueblo Community College, and with the
Archuleta School District 50 JT that will expand and improve the services we
provide starting in Fall 2011. ACEC will become an additional location of Pueblo
Community College where students will be able to earn a general education
associates degree as full-time students without leaving the community using such
delivery modes as interactive video, on-line courses, and classroom instruction.
ACEC will also offer access to a high quality alternative high school where students
referred by the Archuleta School District will have an opportunity to develop college
readiness while completing their diploma.
